Promotions in the Navy Leauge Cadet Corps are done by meeting two requirements. The first is that the cadet has spent a minimum of six months between promotions. The second is passing the coursework exams with a 75% score. If the NLCC cadet has completed the NLCC Orientation, has attained a minimum of one year in service in NLCC, and meets the age requirement, he or she will be able to transfer to the NSCC program as a Seaman Apprentice.
